- No, here in St Joe County I've seen several of these large ESIX SVR4 3.0
- installations running with the Equinox multiplexers. These systems handle
- a variety of users filing various court documents, accounting like proceedures
- and word processing. Many of the terminals are just that, dumb terminals while
- others are actually PCs running, gulp - DOS.
-
- The company who has this contract provides like systems to a good percentage
- of the counties around the state, and they all have Telebit modems and
- communicate with each other via dialup UUCP.

- We could go back and forth just about forever about installations. Heck, I
- remember doing that with QNX verses Unix (and Xenix) and I don't plan on
- continuing. The bottom line is that you Fred seem to think that all the large
- installations are running SCO which isn't the case. There are other operating
- systems out there that are just as reliable and solid as SCO, if not more.

- Oh my gosh -- 43K -- that is very interesting. Gosh, we (us on the net)
- could have passed the bucket and purchased ESIX and made it into our "dream
- operating system" at that price. I wonder how much one has to pay for these
- Unix 4.2 source OEM licenses?
