- I'm still waiting just like that little battery rabbit we've become so fond
- of. I'll keep coming back until I get an answer as none will mean that a fib
- has been told. We want to assume that such is not the case. So far all we
- know that some counties in Indiana have systems with plywood for a backer for
- the tie-wrapped cables for the wires and we use Equinox multiplexors with ESIX
- as an OS. All I would like to know is the name of one county that has a 200
- user system because if it exists we may be doing something terribly wrong.
-
- It would certainly help me to review the SCO situation and put some teeth into
- what Larry has been saying here. I'm willing, ready and able to eat crow if
- necessary.
-
- And now, back to our sponsor:
-
- Item - this morning's San Jose Mercury News says that bankrupt Everex
- is planning to sell ESIX to James River, lock, stock, barrel for $43,000 (yes,
- that's forty three thousand dollars) in cash plus a three year royalty deal
- not to exceed $1,000,000 and a $167,000 loan from Everex.
-
- Item - Does anybody think they want to get rid of this overhead real badly?
-
- Of course the bankruptcy court will have to approve this deal but Everex may
- well be able to explain how paying someone to take an unprofitable business
- venture off your hands is better than keeping a continuous financial drain in
- the company. I would expect the court to rapidly approve this deal.
-
- I wonder why Larry didn't buy the company? I mean the source license alone
- must be worth more than than the cost of the entire venture. And it is V4.
-
- Someday even hackers will find out that to survive you need to make money and
- not just have wonderful technology up your sleeve.
