- Hello,
-
- I'm using 3M tapes (DC2120) and I get on some of my tapes a number of
- bad blocks. Since I'm having trouble with placing a tape steamer in
- my system (386-33DX cache), which is probably a timing problem, I'm
- formatting my tapes slightly (;-) more than once. The number of bad
- blocks on my tape increases with the times it is formatted. What I
- want to know is (assuming the used tapes are 3M):
- * how many bad blocks do DC2120 tapes contain when formatted
- for the first time?
- * is it "allowed" to format a tape more than once? (this compared
- to ordinary 3M 3 1/2 disks).

- Please reply by e-mail if you have some useful information on this
- toppic. Thanks in advance,
-
