  18. Fernando Gouvea had written that the dvips (converts TeX dvi files) 5.495
  19. recently posted to ftp-os2.nmsu.edu calls 'MakeTeXPK.cmd', and this
  20. file will not be found on FAT drives. I had replied to an earlier post
  21. on dvips 5.495 (there is a potential problem with FILE.0 in the .cmd file).

  23. Currently, I use Sinha's port of dvips 5.490, but Rokicki has warned of 
  24. problems with versions prior to 5.495 (also, the .cmd file included with
  25. 5.495 is a REXX script which offers additional features which may be of
  26. interest).

  31. I had assumed that a OS/2 would automatically truncate on a FAT drive (MSDOS
  32. will truncate, right?). I tested 5.495 again, and it appears that you
  33. are correct (but why did the author package it with 'maketexp.cmd' if it
  34. needs to be 'maketexpk.cmd' on all systems?).

  36. I used beav (avail on ftp-os2.nmsu.edu, thanks to Kai Uwe Rommel for 
  37. the port) to edit dvipsos2.exe so that 
  38. 'MakeTeXPK' is now 'MakeTeXP'. It works. Note that the REXX script
  39. expects the new fonts directories to exist (?).

  41. Note also that I posted a reply some time ago to a problem with the REXX
  42. version (FILE.0 may need to be set). It does work for me if I rename to
  43. 'maketexpk.cmd'
