- I managed to get X running fine on my computer, both in colour and in the largest
- resolution.
-
- However, I think something became corrupted; when I type "startx", the screen
- changes into the correct resolution and mode, but does not run any of the files
- that it should. Rather than changing to a blue screen and having the user place
- the original bash and clock on the screen, the scene background is the original
- X crosshatch in black and white.
-
- I checked the .xinitrc, and it is fine and my Xconfig hasn't changed (I don't
- think that would be the problem).
-
- is there anything else I can check?
-
- thanks,
- sanj
