  21. Right.  It's not that chapters can't get mailing labels.
  22. Even an additional set of labels does not cost very much.
  23. But, when you add in the cost of printing, postage and time, it get's
  24. expensive.  If the mailing produces a reasonable number of new chapter
  25. members, esp. new volunteers, it would be worth the expense.
  26. Unfortunately, the aforementioned condition is rarely true (at least from
  27. my limited experiences).  Even though a chapter should be serving
  28. the ACM members in its area, the chapter has to remain financially viable.

  30. Do ACM chapters offer valuable programs?
  31. If not, what would be valuable?
  32. Do you know the type of programs your local chapter sponsors?
