  14. This is a v. simple question to all you sendmail gods, that will hopefully make you
  15. feel good in answering it off the top of your heads:
  16. We have a Sparc which is connected to name server, and so any mail that is sent to a
  17. resolvable name will be sent correctly. However, not all mail addresses have IP 
  18. numbers associated with them. In these cases the mail bounces with the message 
  19. "host unknown".
  20. If this occurs, our work around is to send mail via a more intelligent machine using
  21. this format:
  22. prompt% mail username%computer.domainaddress@intelligent-machine-address
  23. instead of the usual
  24. prompt% mail username@computer.domainaddress
  25.  
  26. So, I would like to know if there is a simple fix to sendmail.cf to send all mail via
  27. the intelligent machine, or maybe just the bounced mail. It would seem to me that this
  28. is a one line fix, but I haven't found it yet.
