- Maybe the remote modem thinks that you have V.42 or V.42bis turned on ?

- Take my advice: Dump it, if you can't get a manual for it. You will
- most likely spend at least 25 hours of your own and colleagues' time.
- The value of that time would be more productively spent on buying a new
- V.32 or V.32bis modem. The V.32 modems without FAX are only about $225
- by now.
