  14.         PRELIMINARY CALL FOR TUTORIAL PROPOSALS

  20. Tutorial proposals are invited for The Sixth Australian Joint Conference
  21. on Artificial Intelligence to be held in Melbourne, Australia, 17-19
  22. Nov. 1993. Two half day tutorials will be held on 16 Nov., 1993. The
  23. topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  24.  
  25. 1. Innovative/Business/Industrial AI applications,
  26.  
  27. 2. Knowledge acquisition,
  28.  
  29. 3. Machine learning,
  30.  
  31. 4. Neural networks and applications,
  32.  
  33. 5. Knowledge based systems/Expert systems.
  34.  
  35. 6. Planning and Scheduling,
  36.  
  37. 7. Uncertainty in AI,
  38.  
  39. 8. Fuzzy Logic and Systems.
  40.  
  41.  
  42. The proposals should contain the following information:
  43.  
  44. 1. The goal of the tutorial,
  45.  
  46. 2. A brief description about the tutorial,
  47.  
  48. 3. Detailed plan including an initial version of the course materials
  49.    to be used in the tutorial and the main references.
  50.  
  51. 4. The names, addresses (both mailing and Email), Phone numbers, and
  52.    Fax numbers of the presenters.
  53.  
  54. 5. The background information of the presenters in the tutorial topic,
  55.    including publication lists, teaching experience, qualifications,
  56.    etc.
  57.  
  58. 6. The prerequisite knowledge for the tutorial should be also included.

  60. The important points for the submission are summarised as follows:
