- The Sixth Australian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI'93)
-
- Preliminary CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
-
- Melbourne, Australia
- 17-19 November 1993
-
-
- The AI'93 Workshop Coordinator invites proposals for workshops to be
- held on 16 November 1993, the day before the conference. The workshops
- will provide a venue in which researchers, developers and users with
- common interests may exchange ideas in an informal setting. Each
- workshop will focus on a particular topic chosen by the workshop
- organisers. The Workshop Coordinator is willing to consider workshop
- proposals on any topic related to AI.
-
- Workshop organisers are encouraged to include a mixture of formal
- presentations and open discussion in their workshop program. A
- workshop may last for either a half-day or full-day, depending on
- the number of participants. In order to facilitate discussion,
- attendance at each workshop will be restricted to active participants
- only and numbers should be kept low, i.e., less than thirty.
-
- It is expected that three or four people will be required to organise
- a workshop, including one person who is nominated as the workshop chair.
- The responsibilities of the workshop organisers will be as follows:
-
- - to distribute a "Call for Participation" for the workshop;
- - to select and invite the participants of the workshop, usually on
- the basis of an extended abstract describing their current work;
- - to set the program for the workshop;
- - to inform the Workshop Coordinator by a date to be specified of
- the participants and the schedule for the workshop.
-
-
- REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPOSALS
-
- All proposals will be considered by the AI'93 Workshop Coordinator,
- and the workshop chair will be notified by 1 June 1993 as to whether
- or not the proposal has been accepted.
-
- A proposal should be approximately two pages in length.
- It should specify:
-
- - the topic of the workshop and the issues to be discussed;
- - one or two paragraphs describing the appeal of this workshop
- to the AI community;
- - the names of the workshop organisers, including the workshop chair,
- together with a postal address, email address and phone number
- for each organiser;
- - an outline of the proposed format and duration of the workshop.
-
-
- IMPORTANT DATES
-
- Deadline for workshop proposals: 30 April 1993.
- Workshop organisers informed of
- the outcome of their proposal: 1 June 1993.
