- As an aside, I suggest you try to keep your lines to under 75
- characters in length. Some systems will chop 'em. And it certainly
- looks ugly. Just hit "return" once in a while.

- Definitely a good idea.
-
- And like Santa, make sure you make your "list", and CHECK IT TWICE.
- Errors slow down processing. Even stupid little errors that make no
- effective difference. I made a little arithmetic error a couple of
- years ago, one which actually made NO difference in the tax position,
- since I was not taxable in any case, and it slowed processing of my
- return by about a month. This based on comparing how long it took
- different family members to get their returns back.

- certainly agree.

- I remember hearing about the first plans about three years ago, and
- one of the preferred methods of transferring the data was magnetic
- tape.
-
- I'm sure that H&R Block has enough returns to process that it's worth
- sending a courier down to 875 Heron Road every day with a nice 6250
- bpi tape.
-
- With the way that the auditors and comptrollers tend to set policy, I
- seriously doubt that the link is a "simple" modem line. They do tend
- to have some major blind spots, but they're probably not the same
- blind spots that you'd expect them to have.
-
- In any case, to a truly "dedicated hacker," is taxation information
- actually of any interest? I would direct your attention to the entry
- in The New Hacker's Dictionary on "COBOL."
