  24. "I gave up gardening after I realized I was cutting worms in two."

  26. So, do you refuse to eat any vegetables that might have been grown
  27. in soil that might contain worms?  If so you must be a big supporter
  28. of hydroponics and other chemical-intensive gardening methods.

  31. We all have some image of a hierarchy of life, and we all choose
  32. to draw the line somewhere.  Above it we don't consider killing and
  33. below it we allow killing for our own preservation or pleasure.

  35. You choose to draw the line a little lower than most people.
  36. But where the line is drawn isn't an absolute handed down from
  37. the heavens (or if it is, most of us don't know it).  You can
  38. get pleasure knowing you have chosen more wisely than the rest
  39. of us, but don't be smug in that knowlege.  There are people that
  40. have chosen even more strictly than you have.  If we are wrong in
  41. your eyes, then you are wrong in theirs using exactly the same
  42. reasoning and logic.  And if they were to accuse you of being a
  43. cruel person for making the choice where you did, I don't think
  44. that would be an effective way of convincing you to make a different
  45. choice.
