  30. conversation maker) once met Nobel on an official celebration; she
  31. later wrote something to a friend about those stuffy old people  ...
  32. enough to let other people much later speculate all kinds of nonsense
  33. about Nobel and Mittag-Leffler being rivals for K.'s favor, and she
  34. dumping the one for the other and so on.  If anyone is interested,
  35. I'll dig up references, but the story is rubbish of course.
