  13. Soak some filter paper in weak palladium(ous) chloride.  Let dry.  Throw the 
  14. filter paper where you suspect Hg.  Any Hg present will darken the 
  15. yellow color of the Pd chloride on the paper.  Compare with uncontaminated
  16. paper.  Said to be quantitative, but I've never confirmed.
  17. P.S. Avoid exposure to the palladium salt (kids/pets).
