- Soak some filter paper in weak palladium(ous) chloride. Let dry. Throw the
- filter paper where you suspect Hg. Any Hg present will darken the
- yellow color of the Pd chloride on the paper. Compare with uncontaminated
- paper. Said to be quantitative, but I've never confirmed.
- P.S. Avoid exposure to the palladium salt (kids/pets).
