- I specifically used the word "designed" because such policies are not
- necessarily successful. While you and Gary are needlessly rubbing in
- this point, you ignore my point. World Bank policies are designed to
- provide a market for the industries in the developed world that
- provide its funding. To the degree that they are supposed to help
- common people these policies are trickle-down at best. Such policies
- that purport to help the poor people in undeveloped countries are
- hardly collectivist any more than a capital gains tax cut is -
- whether or not it does what is claimed by its proponents.
