  26. Many in the lower 48 are trying to prevent the same mistakes that happened
  27. down here from happening in Alaska.  Maybe we are or aren't doing a good
  28. job of that.  Michael Adams would probably know better than I would.
  29. Maybe we are doing a good job of preventing the damage but are hurting
  30. local people more than needs to be.  Nevertheless, there are many people 
  31. in Alaska with short-term profit in their minds.

  53. I also spoke of the difference between local users and the large corporate
  54. users.  Why is it that many Alaskan's support the large corporations is
  55. what you say is true?  How about if I suggest that lands continue to
  56. be locked up for large-scale extraction, but local people be given
  57. much more freedom for uses that are local in nature.
