- I was there on a sailing charter twice in the last couple of years. The
- touristy areas are pretty much okay. I would avoid driving through the
- interior (esp the Ductch side) late at night though. There have been
- a couple of robberies on the deserted roads. Unfortunately, as a sign
- of the times, one of the newer buildings on St. Martin is the prison on
- the eastern side (also the Dutch side) of the Island.
