- I'm afraid I'm not familiar with this particular kit. However if it's 55"+
- I would look at the 70 Surpass as a minimum.. The 48 is a nice engine, I
- used one in a Coverite Jeep. It pushed it along at a nice scale speed....
-
- Most warbirds had a power to weight ratio of around .2hp /lb (ish). So to
- get a like performance if you plane is 5-6lbs you need to be looking at
- 1-1.2hp ie the 70 surpass....
-
- I wouldn't put in a 48, or for that matter a 45 two stroke. You'll be
- dissapointed with the ( lack of ) performance......
-
-
- As an aside I went to afullsize airshow last summer, turned out to be
- all WW2 planes.. The opening display was 5 P51ds flying flat out, low level
- along the runway.. Quite some site.. I fell in love with Mustangs and had
- to build one...
-
- I recently I had a trip to the San Francisco, so I took the oppertunity
- to visit a model shop or two cos stuff is so much cheaper on your side
- of the pond.... I went to Sheldon's in San Jose.. What an eye opener, so
- much stuff.. I was like a kid in a candy store.. Amongst the $500 worth
- of bits I left with was a Pica P51 kit, the 1/6 scale one cos I have a engine
- for it... I've had all the bits out of the box several time, looks like
- really good quality.... Has anyone built/flown one of these?
-
- cheers
