- Here's a questio for all you SKS owners out there.
- Some time ago I bought a Norinco SKS. It has a stamped plain metal
- trigger guard and the barrel appears to be "pressed in" to the breech.
- Now I see new SKS rifles with machined trigger guards and a hexongonal
- nut connecting the barral to the breech. A dealer said I should "avoid"
- SKS rifles wit "pressed-in" barrels. I am a little irritated, as these
- newer guns are available at the same price or lower than the SKS I bought.
- However, I have never had any trouble with mine after hundreds of rounds
- and it is very accurate. Mine does seem a little heavier, however. Is there
- really much difference between the different Chinese SKS rifles Does a
- "pressed-in" vs "nut" barrel mean anything in the real shooting world?
- Should I get one of the newer ones? (Some of the newer ones have horrible
- brown fiberglass stocks, which make them look like cheap toys.)
