  12. First of all I would like to thank all the folks who responded to my
  13. questions on velocity limits in large and small guns.

  15. WRT high MV in big guns (i.e. artillery)  I was not aware that most pieces
  16. have rather low velocities.  I pulled the 10K fps MV off the top of head,
  17. but ths was based on a few bits and pieces that I had picked up from various
  18. places.  The Germans had the "High Pressure Pump" gun in Calais that spewed
  19. projectiles (15 cm, if I remember correctly) at better than 5000 fps at the
  20. muzzle.  I had read somewhere that the so-called "superguns" designed by
  21. Gerold (sp??) Bull were even faster at the muzzle.  This is what prompted
  22. my curiosity.

  25. been pointed in the direction of some well recommended reading.  Again, thanks
  26. very much to you all for abiding my sorrowful ignorance and providing me with
  27. some very enlightening information.
