  29. When I bought my Hi-Power, the gunsmith in the shop I purchased it from
  30. said that if I ever want to shoot IPSC I should have this procedure 
  31. done.  He described a metal strip inside the grip that prevents the
  32. magazine from dropping freely, and also prevents the hammer from dropping
  33. when the magazine has been removed.  The primary safety is unaffected.

  35. Seems like I read from previous postings where part of the procedure in
  36. IPSC is to drop the magazine, and drop the hammer by pulling the
  37. trigger.  If you are using a Hi-Power, you wouldn't be able to do this.

  39. However, I agree with you that removing a safety device is not recommended.
  40. I have only had mine a couple of months, and being primarily a DA revolver
  41. person, with the SA Hi-Power I am still a little gun shy. 8-)

  44. something that does not require this procedure.
