-
- Plain Lexan(tm) makes lousy car windows (or any kind of window). It won't
- break, but it will scratch very easily. A few thousand miles worth of
- road grit would probably make it impossible to see through.
-
- The "transparent armor" they use on bullet-resistant executive cars and
- such is a laminate with a layer of Lexan sandwiched between other, more
- scratch resistant material. It's _very_ expensive. A typical windshield
- will cost upwards of $5000, not counting installation. (Decent armoring
- jobs start at around $40,000 -- BYO car).
