  14. I will be in New Orleans in mid-January for an IEEE POSIX meeting,
  15. and I'd love to do some dawn birding in the area.  Since each day's
  16. work session starts at 9 a.m., I doubt I'll have time to drive far
  17. (f'rinstance, to Avery Island), so I'd love to know of any nearby
  18. places to go.

  20. I'm interested in seeing passerines as well as the local aquatic
  21. bird life (though, so far as the latter goes, I do hold hopes of 
  22. seeing something more unusual than Great Blue Herons and Snowy 
  23. Egrets).
