  27.      I too, don't know your interests, but since you posted in the
  28. rec.backcountry  group I'll take a stab at it. Good backpacking trips in
  29. your area can be found in the southern part of the state, the Shawnee State
  30. Forest and the Zaleski State Forest. Both have developed backpacking 'loop'
  31. trails (42.8 and 23.5 miles, respectively) and can provide you with maps
  32. marked with conveniently spaced water sources, points of interest,
  33. sub-trails, day hikes, trail head parking, etc. I believe they are both
  34. within 3 hours (SW) of Columbus. I don't know the numbers off-hand, but I
  35. believe you can get them by calling the state tourist line; 1-800-BUCKEYE
  36. (I hope I spelled that right! I'm not originally from Ohio.)
