  21. I saw MD prerecorded disks in Tower Records in LA a few days ago.
  22. It was rather strange--things that looked like 3.5 inch floppy disks
  23. stuck inside cases that were VERY similar to cassettes'.  Not at all like
  24. CD packaging.

  28. Prices were I think all 13.99 or 14.99.

  30. I wonder if it's a marketing mistake, though.  I suspect people will
  31. pay more for something that looks like a CD then for something that
  32. looks like a tape.

  34. Or maybe Sony simply wants to keep their 'brand identities' somewhat
  35. separate, though the "Mini Disc" label looks very similar to the CD
  36. logo.

  38. From a consumer point of view, the MD players are alot "neater" than
  39. DCC players.  No rewinding, bump-resistant, and recording as a file-system.

  41. Clear advantages over DCC.  Does b/w compatibility matter that much?
