- Ok, I'll discuss it. Taking a vehicle off-road is bad enough, but
- then cutting limbs to but under the wheels is a bit more destructive
- than I care to be. Especially when towing works fairly well in most
- cases. The other point is that jacking the wheels up and placing

- No one's disputing that. The problem is that when you have 2 4000lb+
- vehicles connected your talking about a *lot* of inertia. When towing
- (or winching) even when everything is going smoothly the transient
- loads can be very high.

- This shows that you don't know a lot about what you speak. Someone
- who knows what they are doing, and has appropriate equipment can be
- very effective at extracting stuck vehicles under *many* different
- circumstances, using *many* techniques. Your last sentence, though,
- seems to be unfortunately largely true.
