- The other day, I was installing some phone wiring in my parents' house.
- Daniel was watching, and asking questions about the tools. He was especially
- fascinated by a pair of pliers, when he was told that it wasn't a wire
- cutter, but did have a blade for cutting wires. I turned my back to plug
- in the phone, and my father let Daniel hold the pliers. The next thing
- we knew there was a flash and a pop!

- Fortunately, the handles on the pliers were insulated. And Daniel now
- understands that wires leading to clock radios also have electricity in
- them... And yes, he was truly and thoroughly frightened by what happened...
