As my subjuct indicates I am newly pregnant. I am probably between 4 & 6
weeks. I'm not positive because I only found out last Monday by taking a
pregnancy test as my doctors receptiopnist (who is also his wife)
requested. I called that day to see if I could get an appointment to see
him but unfortunately he had broken 4 ribs a few days before so he was
not seeing patients until Jan.5th. I was asked to take the test and it was
positive(very dark pink!). Anyway, I will see him on the 5th to find out how
far along I am. My husband and I are really excited about it. We got married
August 22nd. We decided (well,I decided and my husband was adamant at first
but not difficultly swayed) to start to try and concieve a baby right away.
We actually began trying August 3rd (when I stopped using The Pill). We both
thought it wduld take 6 months to a year to get pregnant because that is what
most of our friends told us. Six of our friends have had babies since July.
I also became an aunt of an adorable nephew August 13th named Ryan. He was
born in Monroville,Alabama. He was 2 and a half months premature but there were
no complications besides the low birth weight(he was born at 3lbs12oz but
dropped down to 2lbs8oz!!).You'd never know he was a preemie now. We talked to
my sister yesterday and she said Ryan is up to 14lbs now! WOW!
Anyway, onto my reasons for posting. I thought I would get others opinion on
pregnant moms using VDT's. I have heard so many different views on the subject
and don't know what to do. As I can't get an answer from my GYN until the 5th
I thought I would ask you what your doctor may have told you. I am hoping
that this is safe because I would miss not reading the net. Please send me
your opinions soon. I would prefer Email because I don't get much mail but if
you think it would be of interest to others feel free to post. I will read
this newsgroup every day. I have been reading this news since I became
aware of it's existance . I enjoy reading it. This is our 1st child but I
have loved kids forever. I have been a nanny since 1987. I amnow.
I have worked for 2 separate families since then and babysat since I was 11
before that. My most favorite job was my last. A friend of my dad had just
had a little girl September of 1990. She wanted to return to work in Jan.91.
The nanny she originally had set up was out of the country until March.She
needed to have someone come in part time until then so she could get ready to
return to work. I agreed to help her out for a short time. Well, lo and
behold, I became attached to little Karen and hoped that Sandy , the mom
would offer me the job. She saw how good I was with Karen and did offer me
the job. I stayed with them until Feb92. In that time Sandy, her husband Ken and I became good friends. I still lopk after Karen sometimes. She was also our
flower girl at our wedding. She was only 23 months old at the time but she
was mature for her age. She did a wonderful job.
I had better shut up now or you will flame me.SORRY! I will save more stories
for another time. Again,lease send me your views on VDT & Pregnancy. I hope
I won't have to give up the net but will do whatever I have to for a healthy
baby. Wish me luck on the 5th. I am REALLY sqweamish when getting blood drawn.
