  12. I have used Tex on a PC for several years, but recently made the transition to a
  13. HP 720 workstation.  In spite of the many advantages, I am unable to do what I
  14. thought would be a relatively simple task and would like assistance.

  16. I prepare overhead transparencies for teaching and seminars using
  17. \magnification=\magstep4  Using the same dvi file, I use dvihp (from Arbortext)
  18. to print a full size version of each page and to also print a reduced copy
  19. with four transparencies per page for handouts.  This was easily done using an
  20. options file for DVIHP.

  22. I have two problems trying to carry out this process on my workstation.

  24. 1. When I preview using xdvi, I get messages like the following

  26. Can't find font cmsy5 at 622 dpi; using 300 dpi instead.
  27. Can't find font cmsy7 at 622 dpi; using 300 dpi instead.
  28. Can't find font cmmi7 at 622 dpi; using 300 dpi instead.
  29. Can't find font cmr5 at 622 dpi; using 300 dpi instead.

  31. and the printed copy (prepared using dvilj) has subscripts that are the wrong
  32. size.  This was never a problem on the PC (using PCTeX).  How do I get the
  33. missing fonts?

  35. 2. The meager documentation I have for dvilj (man pages) does not seem to provide
  36. instructions on how to reduce and print four logical pages on one physical page. 
  37. Is this possible?  Or do I need a different laser printer driver?
