- Hi,
-
- A question about the use of virtual fonts. I am using DVIPS (version 5.495)
- with the corresponding virtual fonts and TFMs (as in dvipslib.zip). This is
- about the PC version.
- When I try to view a document with a DVI previewer problems arise with the
- ligatures and accented letters (mainly the ligatures, especially `fi').
- The viewer I like best - DVISCR from the emTeX package - aborts with a fatal
- error, stating that a character code out of range is encountered (i.e.
- character code 174 for the `fi'-ligature) while the code range is 0 - 255.
- Substitution of fonts does not help. The viewer recognizes the virtual fonts,
- substitutes cmr10 for rpplr (for example), but when it is trying to format
- a page on the screen it aborts. Pages without these ligatures are displayed
- normally. Converting DVI to PostScript and printing them gives no problems.
-
-
- What is going wrong? I recently FTPed both dvips549.zip and dvipslib.zip
- and they must contain the most recent versions.
