- I wish MicroSoft had patented this perversion so other vendors couldn't
- imitate it. MS Word shows the same behavior. I believe it's to allow
- Word to defer copying a (possibly large) selection to the clipboard;
- they just remember its position in the file. But this means that Word
- (or PM or FH) must keep the file open, even though you requested it
- closed. Bad idea, however good their intentions.
