- Can I delete the (hidden) file Desktop, and expect that it will be rebuilt
- when I reboot my Mac?
-
- Under system 7.0.1, when I use ResEdit to view the file Desktop, I see
- resources from programs that are no longer resident on my Mac. For example,
- after removing the terminal emulation program Reflections, and all related
- files, including any preference files, I still have the Reflections icons
- in the ICN# (et alia) file. (Yes, I rebuilt the desktop... :)
-
- I've evaluated several software packages for my workgroup, each of which
- leaves a little trail of used icons, and so on... Any suggestions on how
- to reduce the amount of space used by this file? Are there any other files
- that are growing as well?
-
- Thanks.
