- Hi folks!
- I got a 1 meg Trident 8900c card for Xmas, so I downloaded the
- 32-bit drivers from Hobbes that were in the upload directory. I only
- have a VGA monitor(maybe next Xmas :-) ), so I installed the 640 x 480
- 256 color driver.
-
- The installation program was very nice, and the sustem rebooted
- in 256 color mode (the solitare cards look GREAT ), but I've had some problems
- with PM apps, specifically PM-FRACT (32-bit) and the beta of PMVIEW.In each of
- these, the screen is not redrawn properly after a pull-down menu is used-it
- leaves a 16 color "Shadow" where the menu was.
-
- Also, after displaying a monochrome GIF with PMVIEW, and exiting it,
- solitare would not run properly-It would crash if an attempt was made to
- move a card. The cards looked funny, so I suspect the pallete was changed
- by PMVIEW and not reset when it ended. This was cured by rebooting.
-
- Also, the scrolling in a windowed session is SLOOOOWWWW!!! TE/2 looks
- like it is running at 300 baud. The situation is improved somewhat in a
- DOS window by setting VIDEO_ROM_EMULATION to off, although it is then a
- jerky scroll, rather like a Windows 3.1 DOS window scroll.
-
- The screen loses sync if I switch back to a DOS full-screen session
- from PM (no problems yet with OS/2 full-screen), and if I switch back, I get
- lots of vertical lines on the desktop, which disappear if the desktop is
- Refreshed, although those lines lying on open Windows do not.
-
- Any Ideas or sugestions?
-
- Thanx in Advance!
