- Gee, RDMAIL, the MUA we used way back when under TOPS-10 had a neat feature
- that might be appropriate here: it had the equivalent of a few built-in
- (one-letter) aliases. Maybe these could be added to ELM?
-
- When generating a reply or forward, it would be nice if the alias "f" were
- expanded to the "From:" list of the message being replied or forwarded, "t"
- to the "To:" list, "r" to the "Reply-To:" list (or "From:" list if there was
- no "Reply-To" in the message), "s" to the "Sender:" list, and "c" to the
- "CC:" list. RdMail also had "x" for the "Remailed-To:" list and "y" for the
- "Remailed-From:" list, but those may well be obsolete.
-
- This would, for example, allow one to Reply to a message and specify "c,t"
- for the CC field of the reply. Perhaps not a wonderful example, but I am
- sure you can come up with others. In any case, it sure would save a lot of
- typing. I have often wanted such a feature when editing address lists in
- Elm.
-
- I suppose elm's M(ail) command could also accept these aliases, pulling the
- addresses from the "current" message.
