  33. I think this is a mistype (as you got it correct higher up). V.42 has nothing
  34. to do with any speed - it is an error correction scheme.

  36. Going back to what Gerald wrote V.42bis isn't MNP levels 2-5, it's a
  37. compression scheme which has nothing to do with MNP at all. It usually sits on
  38. top of V.42 error correction. V.42 uses LAP-M error correction but it does also
  39. support MNP2-4. V.42bis does *not* support MNP5.
