- Subject: re: 250Mb tapes in Archive 150?
- Lines: 18
-
- If only we had known about the DC6250s last month...
-
- Just to make sure we don't waste more money: What are the largest tapes that
- can be used in the Archive 150MB and 525MB tape units? ( That's the ones we
- are using. ) Are there other units that have 'improved their spesifications'?
- ( That last question just in case someone else is wondering. We are not
- planning any new types. )
-
- Is it possible to mix DC tapes ( 6150, 6250, 6525 ) in one FULL backup? If
- not, is it possible to use one type for the FULL backup, and another for the
- INCREMENTAL backup? We don't want to throw away all those 6150s, and we can't
- afford too many new tapes either.
-
- It can be difficult to figure out how many tapes are needed for a backup,
- especially if large mail services are backed up. Are there any formulas out
- there?
