  11. Go to the class. Why? Because if you've never read before, even a class
  12. using a deck you don't like will teach you a lot of the good ol' basic
  13. things that you can apply later to your own deck.
  14. What sort of things? Well, the most important is relating meanings to
  15. cards- each card, of course, has its own meaning- with some decks, the
  16. meanings are fairly straightforward or well defined, with others, the
  17. meanings of the cards come from within. But learning to associate
  18. meaning with card, and then meaning with card with position, then
  19. meaning with card with position as part of a whole is a learned task :)
  20. You can also learn different spreads, different ideas, etc. Who knows,
  21. you may even meet someone who reads the same deck as you want to.
  22. The Rider/Waite, while being (at least to me) a boring sort of deck, is
  23. a good one to start with- its clean, well defined images, nice colors- a
  24. good deck to start with.
