- You should take the class, but with the Rider/Waite deck. Since you
- are just learning, you should concentrate more on what others can teach
- you instead of distracting yourself (and your class) with the arcane
- differences between decks. The Rider/Waite deck is perfectly fine to
- teach the basic concepts. You can apply them to any deck later.
-
- Hopefully, the teacher will concentrate more on different layouts and
- the relationship between types of cards. It's been my experience that
- the interpretation of the individual cards should be a personal thing.
- Don't buy into the idea that a given card means exactly what someone
- or some book tells you. When reading, if you don't know the book
- meaning of a card, don't interrupt the reading to look it up. Rather,
- go with your first impression.
