  18. Please don't create a group in alt simply because it's easier than
  19. creating a mainstream newsgroup.  If a vote on soc.culture.bengali
  20. fails, you can certainly create an alt.* group then.  If you create
  21. the alt group first and then create a soc group later, the alt group
  22. will linger and tend to fragment discussion.

  28. That doesn't follow.  It would follow that a group under a "language"
  29. hierarchy would be more appropriate than "culture."  Post an RFD for
  30. soc.language.bengali or sci.lang.bengali (since a sci.lang hierarchy
  31. already exists) and see what the response is.
