  14. The Vital-NW (Nationwide) file has just been updated to add the
  15. Sons of Union Veterans address.  This file also has the addresses for
  16. the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society and the African-
  17. American Family History Association, for those interested in Afro-American
  18. genealogy.  THis file has a list of the national offices for various
  19. organizations, as well as descriptions of what records are kept and
  20. for what periods, in Vital Records offices.

  24. a) send an email message to LISTSERV@VM1.NoDak.Edu with the message
  25.                             ^^^^^^^^
  26.    "get GENEALOG VITAL-NW"  The subject line is ignored.
  27.  
  28. b) ftp to VM1.NoDak.Edu, cd to ROOTS-L and "get GENEALOG.VITAL-NW".
  29.  
  30. Notice using email, there is no period after GENEALOG, and ftp there is.

  32. You can get a list of all the files available by sending the message
  33. "INDEX ROOTS-L" to the LISTSERV.
