  24. By the way, Allen's remark that the holonomy of a connection around a
  25. loop varies smoothly as a function of the loop gives rise to a nice easy
  26. proof that the "measures" on the space of connections mod gauge
  27. transformations that arise in Chern-Simons theory (and give link
  28. invariants) cannot be honest measures.  They are most likely generalized
  29. measures of the sort that frequently appear in quantum field theory.
