- Glasses also have other disadvantages. I started wearing contact lenses
- because I was doing a lot of microscope work. I couldn't wear my glasses
- comfortably for the hours of work I was doing (Apart from anything else
- I kept scratching the lens), but couldn't see to draw without them.
- Contact lenses seemed the obvious solution.
-
- Contacts are also safer in lab situations where you can wear standard
- goggles over your lenses, but rarely over glasses. The cost of
- prescription goggles is exorbitant. I bake a lot, and don't burn
- myself as often when wearing contacts, because they dont steam up. Also
- I get better correction with contacts than I ever did with lenses,
- particularly at night.
