  27. parents will go to great lengths to 'fix' their children if they
  28. are born with some type of defect.  At the end of the program (the
  29. Catlin? 60 MINUTES program), the father? said she would be able to
  30. make that 'choice' whether to live in an 'hearing' world or Deaf
  31. Culture.  Even if the child chooses to live with her disability,
  32. she will still have the device implanted and there's no telling if
  33. this could cause some type abnormality if left intacted.
