  26. You should really consider getting some facts before spouting such
  27. tripe!

  29. The "boys in the big city" to whom you are referring are following
  30. local
  31. protocols. Said Protocols were adopted and implemented by both our
  32. Medical Director and MAC Committee.

  34. They were adopted for a very specific reason: the use of the
  35. leg straps was found NON-beneficial and possibly deleterious to the
  36. patient. When applied to a patient in the sitting position it becomes
  37. almost impossible to the lie the patient supine on a long board with
  38. out
  39. then having to readjust the straps and move the legs, both of which can
  40. and do cause movement to the lower spine. Also of note should be the
  41. fact that a KED was designed to provide CERVICAL spine protection NOT
  42. full spinal immobilization. The C-Spine IS adequately protected w/o the
  43. use of leg straps.

  45. In short, it would seem that you believe that anyone who does not agree
  46. with YOUR methods of doing things is lazy or looking for a short cut.
  47. This does not bode well for someone who is in a business were change in
  48. procedures and knowledge is the norm..
