- Much to the contrary, it seems to be a national trend that cities are
- wanting to privatize their ambulance service. The rumors are flying fast
- and furious that Dallas is to be the next large city to go private... we'll
- see what happens, eh?
-
- Public perceptions often are that fire departments are "better" than a private
- service... and most of that is because (in my humble opinion) the private
- services have not paid enough attention to doing PR work like they should
- have. You have to keep telling Gertrude and Uncle Clem that you're better
- trained, and more adept than their local fire boys.... and maybe they'll
- believe you after hearing it over and over and over. Until then, you're
- fighting a losing battle, it sounds like.
-
- I work for one of the larger private providers and understand your
- frustration - but it's all a matter of perception being reality!
-
- G'luck!
