  34. XS3 is known to work with:
  35.     STB WIN/x
  36.     Actix 911 and 924
  37.     S3 clones - don't ask me the models some don't
  38.             even have a name.
  39.     GA localbus
  40.     Diamond Stealth and will post what someone did
  41.     to make it work and the card is sloow.

  43. The highlight of the 801 is that it uses DRAM and supports
  44. upto 2 MB, true color in 640x480, 256 colors at 1280x1024,
  45. and it is capable of mapping 2MB of memory to PC.
  46. Theorically, the 801 should be cheaper than a 924 or 911.

  48. My XS3-0.2a does not work with S3 801. I am working hard to 
  49. wrap it up and I feel that I am close.

  51. S3 next chip is the 928. It is going to be 2 to 3 time faster 
  52. than a 924. Don't know  how hard it will be to port XS3 but
  53. I suspect that after I complete the S3 801 support that it
  54. will be easy to port the 928. The card is expected to be
  55. available in January and probably in February we will have
  56. the server up and running. Projected  cost for the 928 is 
  57. $360 (US).

  60. One last remark, Actix was very instrumental by providing
  61. technical information which enable me to provide XS3.
  62. No other vendor has giving us so quick and strong support.
