- I am looking for some information on PC BIOS. The specific questions
- are:
-
- 1) I assume that the BIOS for each PC is "fine-tuned" for the
- particular chip set used to implement the PC. Is this true?
-
- 2) Are there companies that will sell BIOS code that can be
- modified for a specific platform? Who are they? What is
- the cost for the code/royalties/etc?
-
- 3) Does there exist a BIOS implementation that will boot the
- operating system from a PCMCIA memory card? Who has it?
- what products was it used on? If not, is there a BIOS that
- supports a PCMCIA memory card on a PC?
-
- Please e-mail responses to patw@cserver.plexus.com. Thank you for
- your help,
