- I am looking for information on VGA chips which can connect
- to the "Local Bus". I have heard the terms PCI and VESA used in
- regard to this, but I don't have any information specifically on them.
- What I need to know is:
-
- 1) What is a "Local-Bus" connection. It sounds to me like the VGA
- controller exists on the microprocessors address/data bus?
-
- 2) Is there an available VGA controller which does this? I know that
- on PC's now, the VGA controller sits on the (E)ISA bus.
-
- 3) If there are VGA controller's available, who has them?
-
- 4) Are there implications for the BIOS accessing the VGA because
- it is now located on a different bus?
-
- Thank you for any information you can provide. Please e-mail me directly
- at patw@cserver.plexus.com.
