- My advice is never buy a used car without having it checked out first
- by a mechanic (NOT the mechanic at the dealership). Many will give
- it a 5 min look-over for free, and a thorough checkout for < $50.
- They invariably come up with a list of things that need fixing, which you
- can use to negotiate the sale price down. If the dealer won't let
- you take it off the lot to have it checked, look somewhere else.

- is pretty surprising for a car thats already been sold.
