- Having spoken to a few law students/lawyers, it seems that I could
- do something about it but not through the "lemon laws". Apparently
- lemon laws apply only to new cars and relate to the manufacturers
- not the dealers. Dealers are not liable for crappy cars(Hard to believe
- but true). However
- I could have hired a lawyer and managed to return the car. But,
- considering that I have spent money on the car and that it runs okey
- now, and that I have little time in which to undertake this issue,
- I'm keeping the car. The car was not a total crap heap. Its just
- that they did not inform me of the problems and did not take it back
- when I wanted to return it. And hiring a lawyer is easier said
- than done.....its another hassle. I'm sure thats what a number of
- these places bet on........My word of advice is buy a new car.
- At least then the manufacturer is liable for everything. And if
- you must buy a used one dont do it on Toyota on Western.
